In the modern business environment, customer satisfaction remains paramount in establishing what needs to be done to improve customer experience. It gauges the atmosphere between the business and the client to ensure both parties are satisfied with the products or services offered. The most effective way to get such a response is by conducting a customer satisfaction survey. At Friendly’s, the opinion of the customer is highly regarded. As the name suggests, the business was founded on a platform of a friendly environment with the aim of delivering warm and homely services to customers.
Friendly’s policy on customer service is unrivaled and a top priority for the business. Understanding that happy customers are the lifeline of the business has separated Friendly’s chain of restaurants from the competition. Customers are encouraged to participate in the survey to give an honest opinion of their dining experience, which in turn translates to better service provision and efficiency.

About Friendly’s
Curtis and Prestley Blake founded Friendly’s in 1935 in Springfield, Massachusetts, during the Great Depression. What started as a small ice cream shop dealing in double-dip cones for five cents each, has grown to be a restaurant chain with approximately 380 outlets spread across the US. More than 70 years later, it is still a warm and friendly place, where people can make new memories while enjoying the delicious choices in their menu.
From the Nut Over Caramel Sundae Cone to the Chocolate Cake Krunch Ice Cream Bar desserts, the items on the menu are simply scrumptious. The meals include the signature Big Beef Burgers and the SuperMelt Sandwiches, in addition to over 20 new menu choices. To top it all off, every meal is followed by amazing homemade ice cream.

I went there tonight (10/15). It was so hot inside the restaurant even though it was cool outside. I don’t know how the employees can stand it I couldn’t even enjoy my meal. I will not be going back there to eat until the A.C is fixed.
I have been looking for Friendly’s watermelon sherbert. Not the WATERMELON CAKE, the individual containers that’s I used to be able to purchase either at a local restaurant or at my local grocery store. On the web page it lists that my Food lLion, Redners, Dover Acme, Milford Walmart all have this in their stores. The last place that did have it was Food Lion in milford Delaware. I have went to local stores other than Milford looking for it. I have looked in Dover De Acme, and Safeway., Smyrna, Harrington, and Milfords Food Lion, NO ONE HAS IT. So I stopped at my Dover Del rest. yesterday and they said they don’t even get it at the restaurant to sell any longer. So do you all still sell it or NOT? I have emailed your company one time before and never received an answer. I would kindly appreciate a response. Thank you. It’s my favorite ice cream and it also is about the lowest in calories for my diet that I can treat myself a small
Potion daily.
The store in Windsor locks ct is absolutely horrible. Every time I order online and go to pick up at the time that they say it will be ready it never is. Since that is the only friendlys that is close to us I have no choice but to go there for my kids. I have tried to give them an extra 10 mins and it usually takes all most an hour for our food to be ready and it’s always cold when we get it. Every time the managers act like it is not a big deal. When you have 2 screaming kids in a back seat because they are hungry and I have to complain every time makes me very upset. I try to talk my kids out of friendlys when they want it since they are so horrible. I have complained to the managers multiple times and they just don’t care about the customer. I wish that they would work on there service skills for getting food to thier customers better. I hate this place and really wish my kids won’t ask for friendly ever again.
Your television ads are so annoying, that even if there was a Friendly’s near me, I would not go there. The voice used to get the point across is so unattractive that I put my tv on mute when the commercial comes on!
Try to do the survey but when I went to the site it said site could not to reached!
You need to fix your website!
It is a shame that friendlys did away with the morning coffee carafe and cut breakfast to end at 1030 am. The food has gone downhill ever since the coffee carafe was discontinued. Based on this I will not be returning to Friendlys
The restaurant tables were dirty and filled with used dishes. Greeter sat me at a dirty table but did offer to clean it for me. However another employee did sit mself and guest at a clean table. I asked for water and napkins that i never received. A table of about 7 were serve their ice cream before i received mine. I was there about 15 minutes before that party. No one assist the server he had about 6 tables but only 2 had meals. I watched the staff put chairs on top of unwipe tables. I had to request that the server wash his hands before he made my sundaes to go. States” i am going to put on gloves”. Server was polite but appearance was not to my satisfaction(pants hanging off his waist…..all i could see was his boxers he had on. ) I’ve been to Friendlys before but this was the first time that i wasn’t pleased with my visit.
Cortland NY,
Terrible service: Walked in no one acknowledge our family of four, so we sat ourselves. Then 3 waitresses walked by us, not once all three at least twice some three times no acknowledgement again. Waited 5 minutes then just got up and left. The restaurant was not even half full. Have been to this location numerous times and have never had this type of blatant disregard of customer service ever.
It’s a shame your food is good .
I forgot how slow service is at the Friendly’s restaurant in Manchester New Hampshire. Sat there for over an hour for a sandwich and salad meals . I give credit to the waitresses but I think the cooks were on break all the time . Even my daughter mention that this restaurant is always slow. I watch couple sit and look around and get up and leave it was so slow. I would’ve but I had my grandchildren and family there and we party started our orders . will think twice before going to this restaurant again . I’ve eaten at many Friendly’s on my travel but this is the poorest service and probably has a management problem.
Hello, I’ve been going to friendly since I was a child and its my favorite and I hate to complain. But I was not happy with the order I got last weekend. I ordered a burger that had cold crench fries and 2 Jim dandys with no nuts and they had, my girlfriend is allergic and that’s a big problem. I’m usually very happy when i go but this was very dissapointing. Thank you for your time.
My experience as a server at Friendlys has been both positive a negative. Positive, the other servers in work with are not only a really hard working group. We have to serve our customers in a timely fashion and give them the best possible experience. We have to do this all while seating the door, clearing our tables, doing the dishes, making our own ice creams, and salads, and doing a large list of sidework. All while we are being judged by our table times. Lately with our new manager we are also comsistantly out of many items on the menu and a lack of capable cooks. Frankly it’s been an embarrassment. I love my job but with what’s going on as of late
The Friendly’s on Sumner Avenue, in Springfield, MA has gone down hill since recent changes to staff and management. The restaurant looks much better, but the service is very poor. The biggest problem I have is the way they leave customer’s waiting to be seated, often without bothering to greet them. The last time it happened, I watched one party of two leave after a 15 minute wait, and then had to speak up when the hostess tried to seat another party before my family, though we had waited for close to 15 minutes. We were not greeted when we came in either. Before that incident, there was another similar incident where we waited for 10-15 minutes staring at at least five or six empty tables, and spoke to a manager. We were told that they couldn’t seat us because it would cause a delay or back up in service once seated. My response in my head, was then why not not staff better. My wife thought I was being unreasonable. Another problem I have is that they repeatedly leave the phone off the hook. I call to order, because I don’t like to wait, and I consisistently get busy signals. Sometimes I call repeatedly for 20- 30 minutes. It happens often.
From the moment we walked in our experience was sour. We were seated at a small booth when larger booths were available. We asked to be moved and were told yes but we’re given attitude. Placed our drink order and waited 9 minutes. Placed our appetizer order and dinner order at the same time. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time however the fries seemed to be reheated instead of fresh, the crispy chicken in all four dishes tasted like they were fried in old oil. We were never asked what kind of dressing we wanted for our salad or if the kids wanted dipping sauces for their dinner. We will not be coming back to friendlys in Sturbridge.
Me and my two kids and husband went to the James street in Syracuse new York location. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. We waited ten minutes until a server came to our table,AFTER I had to go up and ASK for one. After that, the server was very very VERY RUDE and didn’t even apologize for the wait. The food was great, thank you for that at least. After we ate, one of the two servers took a break…in the middle of lunch time. People were waiting FOREVER. Next time, maybe you should wait to break your servers. We then waited at least TWENTY MINUTES,WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD TO WALK THE CHECK UP FRONT TO PAY SO WE COULD FINALLY GET OUT OF THERE. I AM DISGUSTED HOW WE WERE TREATED BY THE EMPLOYEES AS WELL AS THE MANAGEMENT. The manager who was on, did NOTHING AT ALL TO HELP ANY OF HER EMPLOYEES AND DID NOTHING NOT EVEN apologize to us. Someone should consider maybe retraining their staff,as well as promote or hire different management. I’ve worked for friendly’s in the past, for many many years…and NEVER felt so angry I had to put down a bad comment about it.We went on Sunday,June 5th around two pm. In case someone reads this and decides to fix the problem. Never again will I ever visit this location again. I’m so disappointed in the customer service I could puke. But thanks for giving me something good to puke out at least I’m happy about that.
