About la Madeleine
Founded in 1983, la Madeleine Country French Café is a restaurant chain with locations in several states including Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Maryland, and Louisiana. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, it operates more than 70 outlets and is still growing. From their crave worthy food to their signature fireplace, their restaurants invite guests to relax, enjoy country French fare, and visit with family and friends.
Patrick Leon Esquerré, a businessman born in the Loire Valley founded the company. He came to the U.S. and brought the tastes of the French countryside with him, where meal time featured homegrown, hand-prepared, heartfelt food, eaten with family and friends. Since he longed for the aroma and taste of tasty Fresh food, he decided to create his own. Thus, la Madeleine was born.

I can’t seem to get this to you any other way. Your location in Tyler is much appreciated. However, the staff training and customer service leaves much to be desired. There seems to be very little organization and a condescending attitude toward the customer. Your staff seems too busy and not doing enough, too loud at clean up, and inattentive to the individual customer. I love your food and service in Dallas, but I was very disappointed in the Tyler location so far. I don’t want to see you lose this location because of poor service. Different ordering procedures each time along with a screw up to boot. Please fix it!
I was in the Arlington Cooper st today and this place was disgusting with tables dirty.
Very good!
Our family was there on Thursday Sept. 15 around 9.00 pm. & place was busy and there was only one person was working , we had to wait quit a while to place our order. That poor soul was running up & down the line like a machine. Doing every thing from taking order, mixing salad, running to register. We were very surprise to see such a poor service, making one person to do all the tasks. This is not the place for us. Food was good, but waiting time was not acceptable. Hope management will take a note of it and fix the problem.
I was with my friend on Thursday 9/15/16 at 8.45 pm & it was a bad experience . Only one person was working on line . This poor man was running up & down the line like a machine, taking order preparing salad , giving out soup & top of that he has to cash out. What a waste of time for us. We have to wait long time before our order was taken. I do not blame this poor soul. Hope they get some help. Food was as usual great. But not happy with the service at all .
First time in. Very nice. Food fast and tasty.
I was at the westheimer location ealier today and I was treated very very rudely by the manager on duty. I think his named is charlie. I work at the location is meyerland and I live right behind the la madaleine on westheimer so I decide to go by there today and buy some food, I asked him if I could get my employee discount and he gave it to me, he told me my total was 17.69. I gave him 20 dollars. 10 in 5s and 10 in 1s. He gave me back 31 cents. When I asked him for the rest of my change he said “well you gave me a stack of ones” like really? You didn’t count the money I handed to you? And then he only gave me a dollar back and said “you’re even lucky I even gave you the discount” in a very rude way and just completely ignored me after and payed attention to a different customer. I’m try my best to give the best customer service I possibly can at the meyerland location, and then I come to the wetheimer location and get treated like this? It’s wasn’t right at all
I have frequented your Sugar Land, Texas location a lot over the years. The past couple of times the quality was less than normal, i.e., pastry that was stale. I was most recently there Saturday evening, April 30, 2016. The bread had mold on it. I was served French onion soup without the cheese or croutons, and my salad was served on a warm plate, so the lettuce wilted almost immediately. There were no glasses available for water. I saw another woman take her strawberries back for some I reason I could not hear, but the guy behind the counter said, “What do you want me to do about it.” Not an acceptable reply to a customer. I’m somewhat afraid to eat there now because I don’t trust the food to be fresh. There doesn’t seem to be any quality control.
I ate at la Madeleine on 3/8 and had a delightful experience.
I took a friend back with me today and was embarrashed that I’d invited her — no ‘Bonjour” greeting, our dessert did not
arrive at the table (I had to return to the counter to explain this and to pick up the missing piece of cake). When I did get the cake I requested that it be cut in half — took forever for her to return and then I had to request a 2nd dish to share my cake.
A trip to the ladies room was a mistake —- foul odor (maybe a deodorizer system would help), NO toilet paper in 2 of the 3 regular atalls and only a small supply in the hadicapped stall. Lucily, I found a cabinet that held supplies and I put rolls in each of the stalls.
So disappointing. I saw no one that appeared to be a manager or a supervisor to report these problems to. This is your restaurant on Millenia Blvd in Orlando. I was there at 11:15 AM. I hope my next visit will be better.
