Customer satisfaction can provide businesses with a competitive edge over their competitors, which can lead to an increase in growth and profitability. Businesses that deliver great customer experience often gain from moral and financial support from happy customers in times of crisis, good publicity that provides new market opportunities, and much more. According to most experts, the twin strategies of business success are customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. Unfortunately, as businesses grow, so does their bureaucratic structure, which may further isolate them from their customers. In fact, it is common for some business owners and employees to ignore customer needs, especially when customers complain and criticize them.
By completing the Books-A-Million Customer Satisfaction Survey, the company wants to overcome this problem. The company’s management and employees want to hear from their valued customers in order to improve their products and services. Smart business owners and marketers, therefore, must focus on their customers’ needs and expectations in addition to the internal world of their operations. Books-A-Million realizes that it depends on its customers to stay in business and thrive.
Many businesses, both large and small, have learnt this lesson the hard way. In the current business environment, the best competitive edge a business can maintain is through retaining its existing customers. Strategies for retaining customers tend to be cheaper than those of attracting new ones. This is especially important in a market with well-established competitors. With repeat purchases, the cost of conducting business with happy clients goes down.

We ordered the book Hot Rod Gallery Jan. 18 from the Lima, Ohio store on Elida Road. It was received today! We were so pleased, especially with Jeff, the young man that helped us with our order. He was very efficient, polite, and had a sense of humor. I will visit the Lima store often for such great service!
Very dissatisfied customer! Charged for third book on a buy two get one free sale. Store is an hour away and I didn’t notice the error until I got home. Was told via phone that they “could not take credit card information over the phone” and so the correction would mean another trip to the store. Bogus!
